Tyraira La Shun Joseph Arrested after Fatal DUI Hit-and-Run in Las Vegas

 
LAS VEGAS, NV (June 23, 2020) – Authorities arrested 23-year-old Tyraira La Shun Joseph following a fatal pedestrian crash in Las Vegas, Tuesday morning.
 
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the incident happened at about 4:15 AM. A northbound vehicle, driven by Joseph, was traveling through the parking lot. However, she failed to pull into a marked parking spot and traveled onto the walkway. There, she hit a pedestrian sitting in the 1700 block of Charleston Avenue.
 
Emergency responders rushed the victim to University Medical Center, where she died. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
 
Joseph did not stop to render aid and fled the area. A short time later, the police located and arrested her. As per reports, she displayed “indicators of impairment” and was later booked into the Clark County Detention Center for applicable charges.
 
LVMPD continues to investigate the fatal crash. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
