One Killed in Head-On Crash on Highway 38 [SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY, CA]

Afternoon Head-On Crash on Highway 38 in San Bernardino County Ends in Fatality

 
SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY, CA (June 24, 2020) – One person died following a head-on crash Wednesday afternoon on Highway 38 in San Bernardino County.
 
The crash happened around 1:12 p.m. just east of Camp Cedar Falls.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, a white Hyundai and a white Toyota SUV or minivan collided head-on. One of the vehicles attempted to pass a slower-moving vehicle when it crashed into oncoming traffic.
 
The impact caused one vehicle to catch fire.
 
Paramedics responded and pronounced one person dead at the scene. The identity of the deceased was not immediately available.
 
A second patient was rushed to Loma Linda University Medical Center in an unknown condition.
 
Crews closed the highway in both directions between Lake William and Angelus Oaks while they worked on the scene.
 
No other information was provided at this time. The crash remains under investigation.
