Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Crash on Grand Avenue near Bethany Home Road
GLENDALE, AZ (June 24, 2020) – A 25-year-old man sustained injuries after a hit-and-run driver hit him on Grand Avenue, Wednesday afternoon.
According to the Glendale Police Department, the incident happened at about 2:00 PM. Due to unknown circumstances, a vehicle hit a pedestrian near Bethany Home Road.
Emergency crews later transported the pedestrian to a hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
However, the driver of the vehicle did not stop to render aid and fled the area. As per recent reports, the “vehicle of interest” is a Penske truck, possibly a 15-18’ rental. Witnesses last saw the vehicle near Grand Avenue and 51st Avenue.
The Arizona Department of Transportation shut down affected areas for almost five hours.
