Kevin Guardado Arrested in Fatal DUI Pedestrian Crash on Bristol Street [SANTA ANA, CA]

Man Dies in DUI Pedestrian Crash at Bristol Street and McFadden Avenue

 
SANTA ANA, CA (June 23, 2020) – A man was arrested following a fatal DUI pedestrian Tuesday afternoon in Santa Ana, police said.
 
The crash happened around 1:10 p.m. at the intersection of Bristol Street and McFadden Avenue.
 
According to police, a white four-door BMW was heading south on Bristol Street and went through the intersection on a green light. It then struck a male pedestrian who was erratically crossing the street.
 
The victim, believed to be in his 30s, was drifting around from side to side, attempting to cross Bristol Street before reversing course. He was in a crosswalk at the time of the crash.
 
Arriving units pronounced the victim dead at the scene. They did not release his name pending family notification.
 
The driver, identified as Kevin Guardado, stayed on scene and was given a field sobriety test. Police later took him into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs.
 
Further investigation is underway.
