2 Teens Injured in Sequim Two-Vehicle Crash

SEQUIM, WA (June 24, 2020) – A two-vehicle collision on Highway 101 at Old Blyn Road left two teenagers injured on Thursday, June 18.

The Washington State Patrol reported that the incident happened at about noon. It involved a Ford pickup carrying a trailer and a Toyota Tacoma.

65-year-old John Anderson of Sequim was driving the truck eastbound on the shoulder of Highway 101. When he tried to make a left turn onto northbound Old Blyn Road, the eastbound Tacoma struck the driver’s side door of the truck.

The 16-year-old Port Angeles girl driving the Tacoma received treatment at the scene for minor injuries.

Her passenger, 18-year-old Darienlyn Woodward of Sequim, was transported to Olympic Medical Center with unspecified injuries. She was not wearing a seat belt according to the troopers.

Anderson and his three passengers – a 42-year-old Sequim woman, a 20-year-old Sequim man, and an 18-year-old Sequim woman – did not report any injuries.

The troopers cited Anderson for failure to yield. They also cited the Tacoma driver for distracted driving.
