Carlos Flores Injured, Yancarlos Garcia Charged After Car Crash on Highway 240 [KENNEWICK, WA]

15-Year-Old Boy Injured in Kennewick Car Crash on Highway 240

 
KENNEWICK, WA (June 24, 2020) –  15-year-old Carlos Flores of Pasco sustained injures in a car crash in Kennewick Saturday night.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the single-vehicle crash happened at about 9:26 p.m. at the base of the blue bridge in Kennewick. Flores was a passenger in the 2008 GMC Acadia operated by 15-year-old Yancarlos Beltran Garcia of Pasco.
 
An investigation revealed that Garcia was driving eastbound on Highway 240 at a high rate of speed. He lost control of the vehicle when he took the left curving lane onto northbound Highway 395. The car subsequently crashed into an embankment.
 
Flores sustained injuries in the crash and was transported to Trios Southridge Hospital in Kennewick. Garcia, meanwhile, faces a negligent driving charge. Both were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash, the troopers said.
