1 Hurt after Car Crash on Parthenia Avenue near Corbin Street
NORTHRIDGE, CA (June 21, 2020) – A car crash on Parthenia Avenue caused a fire hydrant to flood streets, Sunday evening.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the incident happened in the area of Parthenia Avenue and Corbin Street. Two vehicles collided, causing one of the cars to hit a nearby hydrant. Then, a geyser of water shot out of the hydrant, flooding the area outside the Northridge Plaza Shopping Center.
As per reports, the water sprayed several stories high from the hydrant for more than an hour after the crash.
Emergency crews rendered aid to one person, but it is unknown whether or not they needed hospitalization.
LAPD continues to investigate the cause of the crash. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
