Resident Injured after Car Crashes into House on North Murphy Avenue [Sunnyvale, CA]

Two Hurt after Car Crashed into Sunnyvale House on North Murphy Avenue

 
SUNNYVALE, CA (June 23, 2020) — Two people were hurt after a car slammed into their house on 300 block of North Murphy Avenue on Sunday, June 20.
 
According to Sunnyvale Public Safety Lieutenant Todd Lyons, officers rushed to the scene just after midnight Sunday. Lyons said the driver of a silver Mercedes SUV moved at high speeds down Borregas Avenue and lost control of the car. Then it slammed into the house.
 
Sunnyvale firefighters removed one resident pinned under the vehicle. They transported the resident and driver to the hospital. They were medically cleared by midday Sunday.
 
Another resident suffered minor injuries.
 
Officials arrested the driver under suspicion of DUI and the incident is still under investigation. Police did not immediately identify the driver.
