CHP Officer Injured in Hit-and-Run on 10 Freeway [San Gabriel, CA]

Hit-and-Run Driver Wanted after Chain-Reaction Crash on 10 Freeway

 
SAN GABRIEL, CA (June 21, 2020) – A CHP officer sustained injuries following a hit-and-run on 10 Freeway, Sunday afternoon.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at about 1:25 PM. Due to unknown reasons, a Scion in the no. 2 lane suddenly moved into the next lane and cut in front of a RAV4. To avoid a collision, the RAV4 veered to the right and ended up on the freeway shoulder.
 
At the same time, a CHP officer was standing on the freeway shoulder after pulling over a BMW. The RAV4 rear-ended the officer’s parked 2013 Ford Police Interceptor Utility Vehicle, pushing it into the BMW. A vehicle hit the officer, but it was unclear if it was the BMW or the CHP SUV.
 
Emergency crews rushed the 30-year-old officer to Los Angeles County USC Medical Center, where he remains in a serious but stable condition. As per reports, the RAV4 driver, identified as a 32-year-old Monterey Park woman, and the BMW driver did not sustain injuries.
