2 Elderly Women Seriously Injured after Hit by Vehicle near Apple Valley Golf Course
APPLE VALLEY, CA (June 21, 2020) – Two elderly women sustained critical injuries after a vehicle hit them near the Apple Valley Golf Course, Sunday evening.
According to the Apple Valley Fire Protection District, the incident happened at about 7:38 PM. The pedestrians were walking from the south side of Tomahawk Road, crossing near the golf course. Then, a 2019 Jeep SUV hit them in the 19900 block of Tomahawk Road.
Firefighters requested two medical helicopters to airlift a 72-year-old woman and a 69-year-old female to out of area trauma centers.
Meanwhile, the 78-year-old Jeep driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
The Apple Valley Sheriff’s Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) continues to investigate the crash. Investigators ask witnesses to call (760) 240-7400 as soon as possible. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
