Person Airlifted after Car Accident on Highway 96 and Little Moon Lane [HOOPA, CA]

2 People Injured in Hoopa Two-Vehicle Collision

 
HOOPA, CA (June 22, 2020) – Two people suffered injuries in a car accident on Highway 96 and Little Moon Lane intersection on Wednesday, June 17.
 
The incident took place at about 4:35 p.m. Involved were a 2018 Chevy Suburban and a 2000 Honda Civic. Willow Creek firefighters and California Highway Patrol were among the first to respond to the scene.
 
According to the Hoopa Tribal Police, when the collision occurred, the Chevy was southbound on Highway 96 and turning onto Little Moon Lane. The Honda, meanwhile, was traveling northbound on the highway.
 
The crash injured two people. A Reach medivac helicopter transported one patient, while a Hoopa ambulance took the other injured party to a hospital.
 
There was no information available on whether a citation or an arrest has been made. At this time, the police are investigating the cause of the accident.
