Two Hospitalized after Car Crashes into Support Beam on Bayside Lane

 
MISSION BEACH, CA (June 19, 2020) – Two people sustained injuries after a car crashed into a support beam on Bayside Lane, early Friday morning.
 
According to the San Diego Police Department, the incident happened at about 12:15 AM. A 2006 Acura TL sedan was northbound on Bayside Lane when it made a sudden movement to the right. Then, the vehicle struck a support beam for a carport at a Mission Beach apartment building.
 
Residents heard the crash, some claiming that the building shook from the impact. However, the structure of the building did not sustain major damage.
 
The Acura driver, identified as a 24-year-old man, and his passenger, a 25-year-old woman, were transported to a hospital. As per reports, the man suffered a broken right ankle, while the woman suffered a fractured skull, a fractured nose, and a concussion.
 
San Diego police continue to investigate the crash. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
