CITY TERRACE, CA (June 19, 2020) – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver on Whiteside Street, early Friday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at about 2:00 AM. For reasons still under investigation, a white SUV struck a pedestrian on a residential street in the 3400 block of Whiteside Street.
 
Emergency crews pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
 
As per reports, the driver of the white SUV did not stop to render aid and fled the area.
 
CHP continues to investigate the cause of the fatal crash. Investigators ask those with information about the SUV or the driver to reach out as soon as possible. Authorities will release more details once they become available.
