Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver at Fir Avenue and Cognac Lane

 
MORENO VALLEY, CA (June 21, 2020) – A man who died in a pedestrian crash early Sunday morning in Moreno Valley has been identified.
 
The fatal crash happened just after 2:00 a.m. at the intersection of Fir Avenue and Cognac Lane.
 
According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, deputies found the pedestrian lying in the roadway with serious injuries.
 
Paramedics rushed the victim to a Riverside University Health System, where he later died.
 
The Riverside County coroner’s office identified the man a 28-year-old Jelani Williams of Moreno Valley.
 
The involved driver reportedly fled the scene after the crash.
 
Authorities are still investigating the incident and on the lookout for the hit-and-run suspect.
