James Fristoe Dies in Wrong-Way Crash on 5 Freeway [SACRAMENTO, CA]

James Fristoe, Another Person Killed in Sacramento Car Crash

 
SACRAMENTO, CA (June 20, 2020) — Two drivers lost their lives in a wrong-way crash on 5 Freeway near the Sacramento International Airport early Friday morning.
 
The authorities identified one of the victims as 60-year-old James Fristoe. They said the crash occurred past 12:30 a.m. on southbound 5 Freeway south of Powerline Road.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, a Subaru headed in the wrong direction crashed into an oncoming Honda operated by Fristoe.
 
Fristoe and the Subaru driver, a 49-year-old Sonoma man, were both pronounced dead at the scene.
 
Meanwhile, a 56-year-old female passenger in the Honda suffered serious injuries and was transported to the hospital. Her name and that of the Subaru driver were not immediately available.
 
The officers are yet to determine the reason why the Subaru driver was driving in the wrong direction. Whether drugs or alcohol played a factor was unknown. This fatal crash is still under investigation.
