Five Injured after Fairfield Multi-Car Accident on 80 Freeway

 
FAIRFIELD, CA (June 22, 2020) — Five people were hurt in a multi-car accident on 80 Freeway west of Airbase Parkway around 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 20.
 
According to the Fairfield Fire Department, a witness of the crash said several vehicles were racing in traffic before the accident happened.
 
One of the cars moving on the freeway swerved onto the shoulder after crashed into a pickup truck that tow a trailer. The impact ejected one of the people in that vehicle onto the roadway.
 
The witness stated at least one of the vehicles that were racing fled the scene after the crash.
 
More than a dozen people helped remove the ejected person from the road. They also helped another person with injuries in the same vehicle, a witness stated.
 
When authorities responded, they found a total of five people that need medical attention, one of whom had serious injuries.
 
Paramedics rushed all five patients to a local trauma center for treatment.
