Fatal Truck Accident on 90 Freeway near Snoqualmie Pass Summit [KITTITAS COUNTY, WA]

Fiery Semi-Truck Crash on 90 Freeway Turns Fatal

 
KITTITAS COUNTY, WA (June 22, 2020) — At least one person died in a truck accident on 90 Freeway in Kittitas County Friday afternoon.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the crash happened near milepost 63, 10 miles west of the Snoqualmie Pass Summit. A big rig crashed into a guardrail and then caught fire. It was fully engulfed in flames by the time first responders arrived at the scene.
 
Emergency crews took the driver and a passenger to Samaritan Hospital for treatment. However, the WSP said the crash turned fatal, but they did not give out additional information.
 
The crash prompted the closure of 90 Freeway while the initial investigation and clearing operation took place. The freeway has since reopened.
 
As of this time, the cause of the crash is unknown. Further investigation is underway.
