George Valentin Runs after Hitting, Dragging Motorcycle on 91 Freeway in Corona
CORONA, CA (June 19, 2020) – Authorities identified 25-year-old George Valentin as the hit-and-run driver involved in a motorcycle crash on 91 Freeway, Friday evening.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at about 7:00 PM. A silver minivan was on the eastbound lanes of the 91 Freeway when it hit a motorcyclist. The impact of the crash ejected the motorcyclist about 200 feet away from the collision.
However, the minivan driver, Valentin, did not stop and continued on the freeway with the motorcycle still attached to the vehicle. A short time later, the minivan crashed into a fence. Valentin then fled the scene on foot into a drainage wash. There, witnesses attempted to stop him.
The motorcyclist, identified as Chain Arunritthirot, did not sustain serious injuries but complained about pain to his arms and legs.
Valentin was arrested on Saturday for felony hit-and-run, and he is being held at the Robert Presley Detention Center.
A video captured the crash and Arunritthirot believes that Valentin hit him intentionally. In addition, CHP didn’t believe alcohol or drugs to be factors in the crash. Anyone with more information should call the Accident Investigation Unit at (951) 637-8000 as soon as possible.
