3 Killed in Car Accident on Highway 138 near Oasis Road [PINON HILLS, CA]

3 Dead, 1 Critical After Pinon Hills Three-Vehicle Crash on Highway 138

 
PINON HILLS, CA (June 20, 2020) — Three people died and one person suffered critical injuries in a car accident on Highway 138 near Oasis Road in Pinon Hills.
 
The incident happened Thursday night at about 7:37 p.m. according to the California Highway Patrol. Two of the vehicles involved were a burgundy Honda Accord and a silver Infiniti G35. The make and model of the third vehicle were not immediately known.
 
Based on the initial processing of the scene, a silver sedan overturned and landed back on its wheels. When the first responders arrived, its wheels were smoking and people were trying to pull someone out of the vehicle.
 
The San Bernardino fire officials said three people died at the scene. Meanwhile, a helicopter Reach 43 airlifted a patient to Loma Linda University Medical Center with critical injuries. Paramedics also evaluated a second person at the scene. However, the patient declined transport to a hospital.
 
The cause and circumstances leading up to the crash remain under investigation.
