Fatal Motorcycle Crash on 80 Freeway near Greenback Lane

 
SACRAMENTO, CA (June 21, 2020) – A 25-year-old woman was killed in a motorcycle crash early Sunday morning in Sacramento, according to the California Highway Patrol.
 
The crash happened around 12:23 a.m. on westbound 80 Freeway near Greenback Lane.
 
CHP officials did not provide details of how the crash occurred, but the female rider suffered major injuries as a result of the accident.
 
Responding paramedics rushed the rider to Mercy San Juan Medical Center, where she died while undergoing treatment.
 
Authorities did not release the victim’s identity pending notification of her family members.
 
Crews closed several freeway lanes just west of Greenback Lane for approximately 2 hours while law enforcement was on the scene.
 
It is unknown if there are other vehicles involved.
 
CHP investigators are still trying to determine what caused the crash and if alcohol and/or drugs have played a role. They urged any witnesses to contact the agency.
