Fatal Motorcycle Crash in Carmel Valley
CARMEL VALLEY, CA (June 20, 2020) – One person was killed and another sustained injuries in a motorcycle crash on Camp Steffani Road, Saturday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at about 10:48 AM. Due to unknown circumstances, an SUV collided with two motorcycles near the intersection of Camp Steffani Road and Highway 16.
Emergency crews transported both motorcyclists to hospitals. As per reports, one of the victims had undergone emergency surgery, while the other motorcyclist sustained critical injuries. Unfortunately, one of the motorcyclists, identified as a 54-year-old Fremont resident, died.
The 89-year-old driver of the SUV remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. CHP ruled out alcohol and drugs as factors in the fatal crash. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
