Possible Road Rage Involving 3 Vehicles on Thompson Avenue Kills 1 and Injures 2
NIPOMO, CA (June 13, 2020) – A man was killed in a possible road rage early Saturday last week in Nipomo, police said.
The tragic crash happened just before 1:20 a.m. in the 700 block of Thompson Avenue.
The Sheriff’s Department responded to an assault with a deadly weapon and road rage. They said the crash involved three vehicles driving on multiple streets in Nipomo. One of the vehicles went off the roadway and crashed.
As a result, the driver of the vehicle that crashed died at the scene. His two passengers were taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries.
The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office identified the deceased as 38-year-old Alex Manriquez.
Authorities have yet to release additional details about the deadly crash. Further investigation into this incident is underway.
