Timothy Stirton Killed in Scooter Crash on Silver Lake Boulevard [LOS ANGELES, CA]

Fatal Scooter Crash at Silver Lake Boulevard and Effie Street

 
LOS ANGELES, CA (June 17, 2020) – A man who died in a scooter crash Wednesday morning has been identified by authorities as Timothy Stirton, 68, of Los Angeles.
 
The crash happened around 10:35 a.m. at the intersection of Silver Lake Boulevard and Effie Street.
 
According to police, a speeding Ford Explorer went through a red light at the intersection and hit Stirton who was riding on a motorized scooter on a green light. The SUV then struck a tree before crashing into the L&E Oyster Bar.
 
Stirton suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the SUV, a woman in her 70s, and her passenger, a man in his 50s, were injured. Paramedics took them to a hospital for proper treatment.
 
Police said the SUV driver showed no sign of impairment and they did not arrest her.
 
Further investigation into this fatal crash is underway.
