Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Vehicle on Ray Road at Arrowhead Drive

 
CHANDLER, AZ (June 19, 2020) — An 84-year-old pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle near Ray Road and Arrowhead Drive on Thursday, June 18.
 
According to Chandler police spokesman Sgt. Jason McClimans, the woman tried to cross Ray Road at Arrowhead Drive southbound. The light was green for east and westbound traffic on Ray Road when the pedestrian entered the crosswalk and a vehicle struck her.
 
First responders rushed her to the hospital, where she later died.
 
McClimans said police don’t suspect speed or impairment played a role in the crash.
 
The woman’s identity was not immediately available pending positive notification of her family.
 
Officials closed both lanes of Ray Road Thursday morning as police investigated the incident.
