Driver Airlifted after Multi-Vehicle Crash on Highway 37 [Sears Point, CA]

Car Crashes into Water after Multi-Vehicle Crash on Highway 37

 
SEARS POINT, CA (June 15, 2020) – A driver sustained serious injuries following a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 37, Monday afternoon.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at about 3:00 PM. Due to unknown circumstances, six vehicles became involved in a collision. The impact of the crash caused one vehicle to overturn and to slip into the water.
 
Emergency crews airlifted the driver of the vehicle that fell into the water to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek. As per reports, the driver sustained major injuries. Meanwhile, other people involved in the crash suffered minor injuries.
 
Officers shut down affected areas until 7:00 PM to make way for clearing operations and an investigation.
 
CHP continues to investigate the crash. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
