78-Year-Old Stefan Molnar Seriously Injured in Pedestrian Crash on Highway 93

 
JACKPOT, NV (June 13, 2020) – Authorities identified 78-year-old Stefan Molnar as the pedestrian hit by a semi-truck on Highway 93, Wednesday evening.
 
According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, the incident happened at about 8:55 PM. Molnar attempted to cross the highway from east to west at the intersection of Ace Drive. A southbound Freightliner steered right to avoid striking the pedestrian, but the left front of the semi-truck still hit Molnar.
 
Molnar was airlifted to a hospital, where he remains in critical condition. Meanwhile, the 27-year-old truck driver from Redlands, California remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
 
NHP continues to investigate the collision. Investigators ask witnesses to contact the Wells Substation at (775) 752-3235 as soon as possible. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
