5 Hospitalized, Robert Gandara Arrested after Car Rear-Ends Golf Cart in Scottsdale

 
SCOTTSDALE, AZ (June 14, 2020) – Five people sustained injuries after a car hit a golf cart on Miller Road, early Sunday morning.
 
According to the Scottsdale Police Department, the incident happened at about 2:00 AM. A vehicle, driven by 22-year-old Robert Gandara, was northbound on Miller Road when it crashed into the rear of a golf cart.
 
The impact of the crash ejected the golf cart driver and his four female passengers from the cart. All five victims sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Updates on their current conditions remain undisclosed.
 
Gandara did not sustain injuries in the crash. He was later arrested on charges including aggravated assault, but additional charges are anticipated.
 
Scottsdale police believe that impairment played a role in the collision. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
