One Killed in 2-Vehicle Crash on 5 Freeway near Grapevine Road [FORT TEJON, CA]

Fort Tejon Two-Vehicle Crash on 5 Freeway near Grapevine Road Kills 1 Driver

 
FORT TEJON, CA (June 16, 2020) – One person died following a two-vehicle crash Tuesday night in Fort Tejon.
 
The crash happened around 6:30 p.m. on 5 Freeway near Grapevine Road.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, a gray pickup truck was traveling southbound on the freeway when it veered to the right shoulder. It then crashed into the left side of a work truck that was parked on the shoulder.
 
The pickup truck continued on until it struck a curb and rolled over into a fence.
 
CHP officers nearby immediately responded and found the driver ejected from the truck. Paramedics attempted saving the driver, but he died at the scene.
 
The identity of the deceased was not immediately available pending family notification.
 
Crews closed the fourth lane of the freeway as they worked to clear the area. All lanes have since reopened.
 
No additional information was provided at this time. The crash remains under investigation.
