Man Killed in Crash at Almaden Expressway and Redmond Avenue [SAN JOSE, CA]

Early Morning Crash at Almaden Expressway and Redmond Avenue Kills Driver

 
SAN JOSE, CA (June 16, 2020) – A man was killed in a car crash early Tuesday morning in South San Jose, authorities said.
 
The fatal crash happened around 2:15 a.m. at Almaden Expressway and Redmond Avenue, just near Guadalupe Oak Grove Park.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2006 black Acura Integra was traveling southbound on Almaden Expressway at a high rate of speed. It then went off the roadway and crashed into two trees.
 
First responders pronounced the driver dead at the scene. He was the sole occupant of the car.
 
The coroner’s office did not the release the driver’s name pending formal identification and next of kin notification.
 
No other cars were involved and no one else was injured.
 
The crash prompted closure of all southbound lanes of Almaden Expressway in the area until around 9:30 a.m., according to police.
 
Authorities asked anyone with further information to contact the San Jose Police Department’s Traffic Investigations unit at 408-277-4654.
