Passenger Dies after Car Crashes into Tree near LA Mayor’s Home on West Sixth Street

 
LOS ANGELES, CA (June 12, 2020) – A passenger who died in a car crash Friday last week has been identified by authorities.
 
The crash happened around 11:33 p.m. on June 12, in the 4300 block of West Sixth Street near Mayor Eric Garcetti’s official residence in Hancock Park. The mayor residence, the Getty House, is at 605 South Irving Boulevard.
 
Authorities said a McLaren sports car had crashed into a tree near the residence. Paramedics extricated two trapped patients and transported them to a hospital in critical condition.
 
On Saturday, the passenger succumbed to his injuries. The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office identified him as 34-year-old Albert Ahn.
 
The name of the driver was not released.
 
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, police said.
