2 Injured in Hit-and-Run Accident on Petaluma Boulevard [PETALUMA, CA]

2 Motorcycle Riders Injured in Petaluma Hit-and-Run Crash

 
PETALUMA, CA (June 17, 2020) — Two people were injured in a hit-and-run crash on Petaluma Boulevard South Sunday afternoon at about 5:15 p.m.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, a BMW motorcycle was traveling southbound behind a Chevrolet pickup truck when the latter began turning to the right and appeared to be exiting the roadway.
 
The truck then went back into the southbound lane of traffic and made an illegal left U-turn directly in front of the motorcycle. The motorcycle collided with the left side of the truck.
 
The impact ejected both riders of the bike — a 53-year-old Petaluma man and a 47-year-old Oakland woman. They suffered major injuries and transported to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.
 
Meanwhile, the pickup truck sped away after the collision and went northbound on Petaluma Boulevard South.
 
The CHP has no description yet of the driver. However, they described the suspect vehicle as a maroon or dark red full-size Chevrolet pickup truck with a black lumber rack with toolboxes on both sides.
