Man Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash at McLaughlin Avenue and Algiers Street [SAN JOSE, CA]

Pedestrian Dies in Early Morning Hit-and-Run Crash on McLaughlin Avenue in San Jose

 
SAN JOSE, CA (June 15, 2020) – A man died in a hit-and-run crash early Monday morning in San Jose, authorities said.
 
The crash happened around 2:02 a.m. at the intersection of McLaughlin Avenue and Algiers Street.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, a vehicle was traveling southbound on McLaughlin Avenue when it struck the man who was not in a crosswalk. It is unknown if the pedestrian was walking or standing in the area.
 
The impact sent the man into the ground and caused him grave injuries. Arriving paramedics rushed him to a local hospital, where he later died.
 
The Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office will release his identity once his family members are properly notified.
 
The involved vehicle fled the scene after the crash.
