37-Year-Old Man Killed in Multi-Vehicle Crash on Highway 62 [DESERT HOT SPRINGS, CA]

Multi-Vehicle Crash on Highway 62 in Desert Hot Springs Kills 1 Driver

 
DESERT HOT SPRINGS, CA (June 13, 2020) – A 37-year-old man was killed following a multi-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon in Desert Hot Springs.
 
The crash happened around 2:30 p.m. on Highway 62.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the victim was driving a Chrysler Town & Country minivan when he collided with a Ford Flex, driven by a 71-year-old Winterhaven man.
 
The impact sent the minivan into the southbound lane of the highway, where it collided with a Mini Cooper, driven by a 30-year-old man from Yucca Valley.
 
The Mini Cooper then collided with a Jeep Cherokee, driven by a 72-year-old man.
 
Arriving units rushed the driver of the minivan to a hospital with critical injuries. Sadly, the patient died while undergoing treatment. His name was not immediately available pending notification of his family members.
 
A passenger in the minivan was also hospitalized with serious injuries.
 
The other drivers and several passengers in the minivan sustained minor injuries.
 
CHP officials are still investigating the cause of the crash and factors involved.
