Man Killed in Rollover Crash on 23rd Street near C Street [BAKERSFIELD, CA]

Driver Dies in Early Morning Rollover Crash on 23rd Street in Downtown Bakersfield

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (June 13, 2020) – A man died following a rollover crash early Saturday morning in downtown Bakersfield, CHP officials said.
 
The crash happened around 1:35 a.m. in the 2200 block of 23rd Street near C Street.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, a vehicle was heading eastbound on 23rd Street where the road curves at a high rate of speed. It then hit a curb and overturned.
 
The driver was ejected from the car and died at the scene. He was the sole occupant of the vehicle and was not wearing a seat belt.
 
The coroner’s office did not release the identity of the victim pending next of kin notification.
 
Bakersfield police said drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the crash. They asked anyone with additional information to contact BPD at 661-327-7111.
