Pedestrian Hospitalized after Hit by Train on Monterey Street

 
GILROY, CA (June 8, 2020) – A pedestrian was hit by a train on Monterey Street and sustained injuries, Monday evening.
 
According to the San Mateo County Transit District, the incident happened at about 7:00 PM. Due to unknown circumstances, southbound Caltrain no. 264 hit a pedestrian near the Gilroy Caltrain Station at 7150 Monterey Street.
 
Emergency crews transported the pedestrian to a hospital for observation. The extent of the injuries sustained by the victim remains undisclosed.
 
As per reports, there were six passengers aboard the train and none of them sustained injuries.
 
The train was held until 7:30 PM.
 
Officers continue to investigate the cause of the crash. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
