Driver Arrested after Hit-and-Run Accident on Highway 101 [Montecito, CA]

At Least 10 Vehicles Damaged after Hit-and-Run Collision on Highway 101

 
MONTECITO, CA (June 8, 2020) – A driver was arrested and at least 10 vehicles sustained damage following a hit-and-run accident on Highway 101, Monday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at about 8:00 AM. A white Ford F250 pickup truck hit multiple vehicles as the driver headed north on Highway 101.
 
After exiting the freeway, he attempted to flee the scene on foot and left his vehicle on the right-hand shoulder near Olive Mill Road. However, some construction workers on Jameson Lane detained the suspect.
 
Emergency responders transported at least one person to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. The number of people injured and the extent of their injuries remain unverified.
 
CHP continues to investigate the cause of the crash.
