2 Drivers Airlifted After Head-On Crash on Highway 50 near Skyland Drive [Zephyr Cove, NV]

DUI Suspected in Zephyr Cove Head-On Crash

 
ZEPHYR COVE, NV (June 10, 2020) — Two drivers suffered injuries in a head-on crash on Highway 50 near Skyland Drive in Zephyr Cove on Monday.
 
The cause and circumstances surrounding the crash are unknown at this time. However, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol, one of the drivers may have been impaired at the time of the collision.
 
Both injured patients required air transport to the hospital. Information on the extent of their injuries was not immediately available.
 
The investigators had all lanes of Highway 50 closed while they processed the scene. Clearing personnel also worked to remove the vehicles and debris from the roadway. At 8:50 p.m., one lane in each direction was reopened.
 
Meantime, the crash remains under investigation.
