Fatal Pedestrian Hit-and-Run Crash in Cathedral City

CATHEDRAL CITY, CA (July 20, 2020) – A man suffered fatal injuries in a hit-and-run at Ramon Road and Whispering Palms Trail Saturday night.
 
According to the Cathedral City police, a vehicle was eastbound on Ramon Road when it hit the pedestrian at about 8:20 p.m.
 
First responders found the victim in the street when they arrived at the crash scene. Paramedics transported the man to an area hospital. Unfortunately, he later succumbed to his injuries. The authorities have not released the name of the victim.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle sped off after the collision. It was not clear whether the police have a description of the suspect driver and the hit-and-run vehicle. There was also no information on whether the pedestrian was in a crosswalk when the vehicle struck him.
 
The search for the suspect driver and vehicle continues. The police are conducting further investigation.
