Motorcyclist Killed in Crash on Highway 60 in Surprise
SURPRISE, AZ (June 8, 2020) – One person was killed in a motorcycle crash on Highway 60, Monday.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the incident happened in the westbound lanes of Highway 60, also known as West Grand Avenue. Due to unknown circumstances, a vehicle hit the motorcyclist near Dysart Road.
Emergency crews pronounced the motorcyclist dead at the scene. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
It is unknown whether or not the driver of the vehicle remained and cooperated with investigators.
The Arizona Department of Transportation temporarily shut down the westbound lanes to make way for clearing operations.
DPS continues to investigate the cause of the fatal crash. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
