Woman Killed in Head-On Crash at Wildcat Canyon Road and Ketuull Uunyaa Way [LAKESIDE, CA]

Head-On Crash on Wildcat Canyon Road in Lakeside Kills 1 Driver and Injures Another

 
LAKESIDE, CA (June 7, 2020) – A woman died following a head-on crash Sunday afternoon in Lakeside, authorities said.
 
The crash happened around 1:22 p.m. on Wildcat Canyon Road, just south of Ketuull Uunyaa Way in the area of the Barona Resort and Casino.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2016 Ford Fusion was traveling southbound on Wildcat Canyon Road when it lost control and veered into the opposite lane. It then collided head-on with a Ford F-150 pickup truck.
 
As a result, the driver of the Fusion died at the scene. She was only identified as a 21-year-old San Diego woman.
 
The driver of the Ford pickup truck, a 61-year-old woman, was taken to Sharp Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.
 
A dog was also reportedly killed in the crash.
 
Authorities said neither drugs nor alcohol were suspected factors in the crash.
 
An investigation is ongoing.
