Six Hurt in Multi-Car Accident on Watts Drive [Bakersfield, CA]

Six Injured after Bakersfield Multi-Car Accident on Watts Drive

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (June 9, 2020) – Six people sustained injuries in a multi-car accident on Watts Drive and Lotus Lane at about 11:10 p.m. Saturday, June 6.
 
Bakersfield Police said that an Oldsmobile sedan moving south on Lotus Lane didn’t stop at the stop sign at the intersection with Watts Drive. Then the Oldsmobile crashed with a Toyota sedan moving east on Watts Drive. After that, the Oldsmobile crashed into a Nissan sedan that was stopped on the north side of the intersection.
 
The impact ejected the man driving the Oldsmobile. Medics rushed him to a hospital with major injuries. BPD said they believed he was under the influence of alcohol.
 
The woman driving the Toyota sustained moderate injuries. According to the police, she was intoxicated by alcohol. Two adult passengers suffered moderate injuries. Paramedic brought all three to hospitals.
 
The female driver of the Nissan and her passenger complained of pain and received treatments at the scene, police stated.
 
The incident is still under investigation. Police urge anyone with information to contact 327-7111.
