Hit-and-Run Driver Struck and Killed Male Pedestrian in Tucson

 
TUCSON, AZ (June 9, 2020) — A man in his 50s was killed in a hit-and-run at Roger Road and Pomona Road Friday night.
 
According to the Tucson police, they received a report about the collision at about 8:00 p.m. The officers and emergency crews found the pedestrian lifeless when they arrived at the scene.
 
An initial investigation showed that the suspect vehicle hit the pedestrian from behind while he was eastbound on Roger Road, pushing a shopping cart. The vehicle sped away after the collision.
 
The officers said the crash area was dimly lit and the man was wearing dark clothing. They are now working to locate the family of the pedestrian.
 
The police are also in search of the suspect vehicle, described as a late 2000s, possibly 2008, gray or silver Dodge Nitro. They urge anyone with information to call 88-CRIME.
 
This fatal crash remains under investigation.
