Woman Killed in Pedestrian Accident on Thomas Road near 30th Street [Phoenix, AZ]

Phoenix Pedestrian Accident on Thomas Road Kills 28-Year-Old Woman

 
PHOENIX, AZ (June 8, 2020) — A 28-year-old female pedestrian died after two vehicles hit her near an intersection in Phoenix Friday night.
 
According to the Phoenix police, the initial crash took place at about 9:15 p.m. A Ford Freestyle SUV struck the woman while she was crossing mid-block on Thomas Road near North 30th Street.
 
The collision knocked the woman to the ground where she was subsequently hit by a Nissan Frontier pickup truck.
 
Emergency crews rushed the woman to the hospital. Despite life-saving efforts, she died at the hospital from her injuries.
 
Meanwhile, the drivers of both vehicles remained at the scene. Their names were not released. The police said an 86-year-old man was driving the Ford, while a 61-year-old man was driving the Nissan. There were no indications that impairment was a factor in the collision, the officers said.
 
The investigation of this fatal crash is ongoing.
