Man Dead, Woman Hurt in Rollover Crash on 15 Freeway [Fallbrook, CA]

One Killed, One Injured after Fallbrook Rollover Crash on 15 Freeway

 
FALLBROOK, CA (June 8, 2020) – A man died and another woman sustained injuries in a rollover crash 15 Freeway in Fallbrook on Sunday, June 7.
 
At around 10:40 a.m., a gold Lincoln Navigator drove off the freeway, just south of East Mission Road. Then it fell 150 feet below and rolled over several times, Capt. John Choi of North County Fire stated.
 
Crews from the fire department used a rope system to rescue the driver, a 67-year-old woman from Hayward. They rushed her to Palomar Medical Center with major injuries.
 
A 68-year-old man, also from Hayward, died at the scene of the crash, according to the California Highway Patrol. The man did not look like he wore a seatbelt. The impact partially ejected him from the vehicle in the crash, CHP stated.
 
CHP officials said impairment did not play a role in the crash.
 
According to fire officials, the collision tied up traffic on the East Mission on-ramp.
 
The California Highway Patrol is investigating the reason behind the crash.
