33-Year-Old Anton Fischer Identified as Long Beach Police Officer Killed in Motorcycle Crash
LONG BEACH, CA (June 4, 2020) – Authorities identified 33-year-old Anton Fischer as the LBPD officer killed in a motorcycle crash, Thursday afternoon.
According to the Long Beach Police Department, the incident happened at about 2:25 PM. Officer Fischer was riding his motorcycle to work when he collided with a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee that made a left turn from 7th Place to westbound Ocean Avenue.
Emergency crews rushed Officer Fischer to a hospital, where he later died. Officer Fischer, a three-year veteran of the LBPD, is survived by his mother, Geneva Fischer, his 12-year-old son, Cristopher, and his girlfriend, LBPD officer Kaylie Lopez. A GoFundMe page has been set up to assist Officer Fischer’s loved ones with their ongoing expenses.
Meanwhile, the driver of the Jeep remained and cooperated with investigators.
LBPD continues to investigate the cause of the crash. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
