Mentone Plane Crash near Crafton Hills Kills Three

 
MENTONE, CA (June 5, 2020) – Authorities disclosed the name of one of the three people killed in a plane crash Friday afternoon near the Crafton Hills in Mentone.
 
The crash happened around 3:30 p.m. in the area of Mill Creek Road, also known as Highway 38.
 
According to reports, a single-engine Cessna 172 crashed down the hills in unclear circumstances.
 
Shery Doucette, her 11-year-old daughter Gineva and a third person were killed in the crash. They were the only people onboard when the crash occurred.
 
Doucette was an airport district employee. She was the administrative analyst for the district and served as board secretary.
 
No further details were available Friday evening. The crash remains under investigation by the FAA and the National Transportation and Safety Board.
