One Killed in Fiery Crash on Highway 198 near Houston Avenue [HANFORD, CA]

Early Morning Fiery Crash on Highway 198 in Hanford Turns Deadly

 
HANFORD, CA (June 5, 2020) – One person was killed following a fiery crash early Friday morning in Hanford, CHP officials said.
 
The crash happened around 2:50 a.m. on Highway 198 near Houston Avenue.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, a white Chevrolet Malibu had crashed into the concrete center divider and caught fire upon impact.
 
Responding emergency personnel pronounced one person dead at the scene.
 
The coroner’s office did not disclose the victim’s identity pending next of kin notification.
 
Crews closed the eastbound lanes while the investigation was being conducted.
 
Police are still investigating the accident to determine the ultimate cause and liability.
