Ashley Williams Arrested in Fatal DUI Crash on San Pasqual Valley Road [ESCONDIDO, CA]

Carmela Camacho, Abel Valdez, Emmanuel Rivas and Yovanny Felix Fatally Struck by DUI Driver on San Pascual Valley Road

 
ESCONDIDO, CA (May 5, 2020) – A woman was arrested following a fatal DUI crash earlier of May in Escondido.
 
The crash happened around 8:30 p.m. May 5, on San Pasqual Valley Road at Oak Hill Drive.
 
According to the Escondido Police Department, a 28-year-old Ashley Rene Williams of Escondido was driving a 2014 Mazda 3 when she struck four pedestrians who were walking in the area.
 
Two of the victims, a man and a child, died at the scene. The other two, a woman and another juvenile, died at Palomar Medical Center.
 
Officials identified them as Carmela Camacho, 50; her boyfriend, Abel Juan Valdez, 33; and her grandsons, Emmanuel Rivas, 11, and Yovanny Felix, 10.
 
Meanwhile, Williams only sustained minor injuries.
 
On June 4, Escondido Police obtained an arrest warrant for Williams. They executed a search warrant on Williams’ home and took her into custody. She was arrested on suspicion of four counts of murder and four counts of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
 
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
