CHP Officer Injured in Rollover Crash on Highway 1 [Big Sur, CA]

California Highway Patrol Officer Airlifted after Rollover Crash on Highway 1

 
BIG SUR, CA (June 3, 2020) – A CHP officer sustained injuries in a rollover crash on Highway 1 near Plaskett Creek, Wednesday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at about 11:00 AM. An officer was responding to a fire when he came across a skateboarder in the road. In an attempt to avoid the skateboarder, the officer swerved, causing the vehicle to roll over multiple times.
 
A helicopter then airlifted the CHP officer out of the area with minor injuries. Meanwhile, the skateboarder did not sustain injuries in the incident.
 
CHP continues to investigate the cause of the crash. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
