3 Killed in Car Accident on Highway 178 [Shoshone, CA]

Three Dead, Five Injured after Shoshone Traffic Accident on Highway 178 and Highway 127

 
SHOSHONE, CA (June 4, 2020) – Three people died and multiple injuries were sustained in a car accident on Highway 178 on Sunday, May 31.
 
At around 12:21 p.m, Luis Echeverria, of Fontana, drove a 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche westbound along Highway 178. Simultaneously, Chantra Sun, of Baldwin Park, drove a 2017 BMW X5 eastbound along Highway 78, approaching the Chevrolet.
 
For an undetermined reason, the Chevrolet and BMW slammed head-on within the roadway of Highway 178. Two passengers of the Chevrolet and one passenger of the BMW suffered fatal multiple traumatic injuries and died.
 
Paramedics rushed the remaining five victims to Las Vegas University Medical Center for medical treatment.
 
California Highway Patrol is still investigating the incident.
 
Inyo County Coroner’s Office and Clark County Coroner’s Office have not released the identities of the deceased victims.
